WHY “ABACI”?
ABACUS BASED ARITHMETIC PROGRAMS:
“ABACUS” system of calculation is an ancient and proven
system of doing calculations. It is an excellent concept that
provides for overall “Mental Development of a child” while teaching
the basics of big four (Addition, Subtraction, multiplication and
Division) of arithmetic.
There are several arithmetic programs based on ABACUS but these
programs have limitations of applications. These programs are
designed to teach big Four of arithmetic only and as the program
progresses to final 4 levels the numbers become “TOO BIG” to deal
with and, starts to create STRESS & FRUSTRATIONS resulting
in LOSS OF INTEREST in the program. The kids ultimately
dropout and LOOSING THE CONFIDENCE AND SENSE OF
ACHIEVEMENT due to non completion of program. The
knowledge gained in these programs is limited and has NO
PRACTICAL APPLICATION in school and real life. Kids fail to
apply the knowledge in school due to lack of proper guidance as
parents & teachers cannot guide them due unawareness of concept.
TRADITIONAL MATHS PROGRAMS:
Programs based on traditional math incorporate use of work
sheets to REPEATEDLY PRACTICE the same concept till the kid
becomes proficient. They have to memorize the numbers
continuously and they become prone to make mistakes. They are
dependent on paper and pencil to deal with big & multiple
numbers. This creates LOSS OF CONFIDENCE and FEAR OF
MATHS in the mind of the kids.
Traditional tutoring program are normally run by UNTRAINED
associates as instructors where the basic job is limited to issuing
and checking the worksheets and keeping track of scores and
points. Mostly the DEDICATION IS MISSING AND NO PASSION
IS INVOLVED. The kids are not accountable for time spent in the
class as the worksheets can be carried home and brought back for
correction in next session.
In most programs kids cannot retain the worksheets for reference

The program is designed to teach the Big Four of arithmetic on
abacus system keeping in mind the practicality of the numbers.
The program is structured to incorporate word & story problems,
and topics related to school curriculum. The kids get an
opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills to school system
and learn school curriculum.
The program is run by trained instructors who have passion for
the program and believe in it. We run 2 hrs sessions that allows
kids to settle down and concentrate in their work at a stretch.
There is no repetition as kids are learning new concept regularly
and keep their interest in the program. The program is self paced
and avoids frustration and stress. IT’S A FUN PROGRAM.
Our program has developed due to referrals of satisfied parents.
