CONCEPT

IT IS USUALLY ASSUMED THAT LEARNING MENTAL ARITHMETIC
IS TO IMPROVE SPEED AND ACCURACY OF CALCULATIONS.  BUT
THIS IS JUST THE END RESULT, IN THE PROCESS A STUDENT
HAS ALSO DEVELOPED.

CONCENTRATION

Concentration is the directed attention towards a particular task or
endeavour, this creates a deep image and mental impression.  Enhanced
concentration leads to better absorption hence making  learning a fun
process.  At ABACI, children will be trained to concentrate while listen to
their teachers in order to attempt questions of various difficulties.

OBSERVATION

Observation is a state of alertness and swiftness of the mind through
which comparing, analysing and differentiating of objects is
accomplished.  This will come with training in understanding the
theoretical requirements of each calculation at the same being aware of
the time limits.

VISUALIZATION & IMAGINATION

The imagination of the right brain is used to
visualize the
ABACUS in mind.  This will
sharpen skills of visualisation and
imagination.

MEMORY

Memory is the ability to store and retrieve
information.  Information stored in the left
brain will not stay forever but information in the right brain will.  For
example, riding a bicycle, swimming etc are skills that are stored in the
right brain which a human being recalls regardless of time frame.  Left
brain entails TEACHING and LEARNING and right brain for
TRAINING and PRACTICE.  Hence arithmetic becomes a lifetime natural
skill.
